Welcome Center Coordinators are critical to developing relationships and partnerships with parents and community members. The Welcome Center Coordinators will serve as the facilitators for the center, welcoming families and community members and connecting them with the appropriate people in the district to meet their needs. The Welcome Center Coordinators will provide visitors to the center with information on school programs and pathways and provide information and make connections to community resources and agencies. The ability to communicate in Spanish is a requirement for this role. This is a 12-month, part-time role that is grant-funded, expiring June 30, 2026. Reapplications are required on a yearly basis. 

SPECIFIC PROJECT RESPONSIBILITIES

The core of the Welcome Center Coordinator role is the facilitation of the Welcome Center Resource Room. 

• Facilitate the Welcome Center on a flexible schedule, some evenings and weekend hours will be needed.

• Communicate with family and community members answering their questions and connecting them with the information or point of contacts to meet their needs.

• Gather current information on school and community events, including restocking fliers and brochures.

• Assist with the organization and management of a calendar:

• schedule resource personnel for the center 
• schedule events and sessions for families and community members.
• make connections with community organizations and partners for future sessions

• Assist visitors with use of the facility, including using the available technology as needed.

ELIGIBILITY

• Ability to clearly communicate in English and Spanish. 
• Have knowledge of a K-12 school system in NC or previous educational experience.
• Has knowledge and experience working with local community support agencies.
