Under general supervision, performs a variety of moderate to complex support functions for the school as a treasurer and additional office support at an assigned school. Work involves independently preparing routing correspondence, compiling information for reports, maintaining computer-based accounting systems and performing technical accounts payable functions. Employee is also responsible for maintaining school-related files of a variety of records, reports, documents, and correspondence and assimilating information from a variety of sources to compose letters, reports, and provide information data. Employee reports to the Principal.

Strong computer and basic accounting skills are preferred. Associates Degree in Accounting and/or relevant accounting related experience is preferred.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Maintains a large, multi-fund bookkeeping system using a computerized accounting program; verifies and receipts collections from teachers and other school personnel including athletics and clubs; creates deposits daily, issues local requisitions for school funds; verifies invoices for payment; enters accounting transactions into the system; generates monthly reports including cash/flow statements, balance statements, and income/expenditure statements for each fund; maintains accounts payable files for verification of receipt of items.

Maintains an accurate record of absences for school-based employees in a computerized system; completes the turnaround report for payroll; maintains verification of leave for all employees.

Responsible for gate boxes for all athletic and non-athletic events. Maintains records for athletic events, including log of tickets sold and files of personnel information for event officials.

Maintains records for state, federal and local budget allotments for each departments; enters purchase orders and submits for approval; maintains log of purchase orders and their status.

Supervises fund raising activities for the school.

Performs other related work as assigned or required.
