JOB TITLE: Out-of-School Time Learning Coordinator
JOB STATUS: Full-Time or Part-Time/12 Months

General Statement of Job
The Out-of-School Time (OST) Learning Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and
enhancing out-of-school time (OST) programs for ACS by developing and implementing
systems for continuous improvement, collaborating with community partners, and aligning these
programs with district goals. Responsibilities include evaluating student participation and
achievement, organizing staff training, engaging families, and ensuring effective communication
and sustainability of OST initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities
? Support and expand opportunities for ACS students outside of the regular school day
and school year, including afterschool, summer, evenings, and weekends
? Implement a system for evaluation and continuous improvement of out of school time
programs, including collecting data on student participation, achievement, and
engagement
? Collaborate with community providers to map current out of school time offerings and
identify gaps
? Coordinate training opportunities for extended learning staff, both ACS and
community-based
? Communicate with site-based leadership to identify logistics of program implementation
? Leverage strong family engagement to learn more about what families want with out of
school time opportunities for their children
? Work with community partners to align the vision, goals, and strategies for out-of-school
time learning
? Develop and outline activities that incorporate program & district goals into a daily
routine, including home-to-school connections and activities
? Research out of school time programs, compile qualities of effective programming, and
create a repository of shared resources
? Create a digital hub for ACS families to access information and resources for out of
school time learning
? Working with the Executive Director of Community Partnerships, create a sustainability
plan for out of school time programs that includes diversifying funding sources
? Develop a communication plan to promote the program’s vision and opportunities
Qualifications
? Possesses knowledge of the Asheville community and community resources
? Possesses basic knowledge and understanding of school-aged children
? Possesses experience working in a school or youth-services setting
? Possesses strong communication and collaboration skills
? Centers racial equity
Work Hours and Compensation:
The position of ACS Out-of-School Time Learning Coordinator is a full-time or part-time
contracted position funded with grant funds for two school years (through June 2026).
