Ashton Sound & Communications is Hiring an Installation Technician Near Ravenna, OH

Ashton Sound is a low voltage contracting firm located in Ravenna, OH that also provides full-service security and low voltage technology solutions. We are seeking low voltage installation technicians that are looking to grow and know how to do the job right.

Required:

  • General Low Voltage Security/Access/Video/Networking experience – minimum 2 years
  • Demonstrates a high-level of professionalism, expertise, and communication skills.
  • Possesses a precise attention to detail, labeling, and record-keeping.
  • Possesses a valid driver’s license.
  • Carry weights up to 60 pounds.
  • Climb ladders that extend up to 28 ft. in height.
  • Operate scissor and aerial lifts.
  • Must have basic Low Voltage Hand tools.
  • Willing to undergo a background check and drug test.

Responsibilities & Expectations

  • Install, service, program, and maintain a variety of low voltage systems and cabling, including but not limited to: burglar alarms, fire alarm systems (addressable and conventional), video surveillance (IP and analog), electronic access control, nurse call, audio-visual/paging systems, voice and data structured cabling, fiber optic cabling, phone systems, and networking equipment. Extensive on-the-job training will be provided.
  • Familiarity with basic electrical conduit, tools, and wiring practices.
  • Familiarity with network equipment and basic IT skills.
  • Complete all wiring, connections, and equipment installations ensuring that systems are complete and satisfy customer and contractual requirements.
  • Troubleshoot new system installations to ensure proper function and to ensure system meets local, county, state, or federal codes; legal and/or insurance requirements.
  • Read blueprints, building and electrical plans in order to complete installations and repairs.
  • Perform installation and repair work as designated in profitable and proper manner.
  • Promote, build, and maintain customer relations by resolving concerns and answering questions.
  • Maintain safe and secure work environment by following safe practices and OSHA standards.
  • Fast learner and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with MS Office programs.
  • Familiarity with basic PC setup and software installations.
  • High school Diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Available to work overtime if needed.
  • Use your skills to the best of your ability, always trying to improve.
  • Always leave the job site better than you found it.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • OH Fire Alarm License
  • NICET Fire Alarm Certification
  • Knowledge of BICSI standards
