ASML US, Inc. is Hiring an Optics Fabrication Technician Contacting/Etch/Litho - 2nd Shift (10% Shift Diffe Near Wilton, CT

Shift: 2nd shift for 1 year and then moving to CWW Days. Must be able to work a CWW day shift after 1 year mark.

We are looking for individuals like you to work in our contact, bond and litho competency . You will fabricate some of the world's most advanced optical components used in the most advanced semiconductor photolithography machines. Through your attention to detail, results orientation, and commitment to task, you will produce high precision quality optics per production schedule. You will maintain the safety and workplace organization of your processing area. You will value adherence to standards while applying your experience and perspective to contribute to continuous improvement in our processing methods. You will enjoy success generated through your individual desire to learn and through teamwork with your colleagues.

Job Description

An Optical Fabrication Contacting Technician will be responsible for:

  • This role entails precisely aligning and assembling glass parts with a high degree of accuracy in order to produce high quality optical assemblies. This position may include measuring optical characteristics of assemblies using advanced metrology equipment for final data verification and quality inspection.
  • Learn to inspect and create map of glass surfaces showing all minute defects
  • Learn to clean optical surfaces of all particles and contaminants.
  • Handling delicate optical components and visually identifying any abnormal characteristics.
  • Transacting work activity in shop floor control system including documenting processing delays or quality issues.
  • Complying with safety requirements and participating in safety improvements within your work center.
  • Maintaining area, tooling, and equipment to 5S area standards.
  • Identifying and escalating any unsafe conditions.
  • Strictly adhering to processing standards and work instructions to obtain consistent quality results.
  • Identifying and escalating any product or process quality concerns in a timely manner.
  • Performing assigned work content to support area and factory schedule execution.
  • Learning and applying skills to tackle progressively more challenging products.
  • Identifying and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives in how your work is defined and performed, and more broadly within your area, to improve safety, quality, output, and cycle time.
  • Collaborating with production engineering and manufacturing management to improve operational efficiencies and effectivity.
  • Accurately recording time and attendance.
  • Adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Must be willing to work in a clean room environment, wearing coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses and gloves for entire duration of shift.

Education

  • High school diploma. Associates degree in a vocational trade preferred.

Experience

  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing facility or completion of a vocational certification.
  • Use of some of the following: measuring equipment desirable: microscopes, calipers, micrometers, coordinate measuring machine (CMM), interferometer.
  • Data collection and record keeping.
  • Transacting work activities in a shop floor control system.
  • Participating in continuous improvement efforts (quality circles, kaizen events, etc)
  • Work experience or active hobbies that translate to stated job responsibilities and desired personal skills.
  • High dexterity and experience with processes requiring high precision in order to accurately place and position fine delicate components.

Personal skills

  • Commitment to task and results orientation to complete scheduled activities and report status throughout your shift.
  • Attention to detail to deliver quality results from your processing step, including visually inspecting your work to detect, report any abnormalities and measure work-piece for conformance to specifications.
  • Organization of information and materials.
  • Ability to read and understand gages and other measuring devices.
  • Ability to interpret mathematical and geometrical data. An example would be experience reading and interpreting topographical maps.
  • Ability to effectively communicate written and verbal information.
  • Demonstrated ability to clearly document a problem using facts and data.
  • Accountable for your actions and willingness to engage in problem resolution.
  • Constructively challenge the status quo in search of a better way.
  • Care for yourself and others by confronting unsafe behaviors or conditions.
  • Take pride in your work and speak up when observing abnormal conditions in process or product.

  • Dexterity to handle optical components with care.
  • Ability to work safely on fragile, high value optics.

Other information

  • May be exposed to moving mechanical parts, solvents and tooling.
  • May also be exposed to laser energy and magnetic fields.
  • May be required to handle chemicals including HF (Hydroflouric Acid)
  • Production areas are maintained at 70 to 75 degrees and 35-55% relative humidity.
  • The noise level in the manufacturing areas is usually moderate.
  • Ability to lift 35 lbs.

  • Responsibilities:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch.
  • The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Can work under deadlines.
  • The environment generally is moderate in temperature with moderate to high noise level.
