Job Summary:
Responsible for creating a safe and nurturing environment for young children ages 18-23 months. The teacher will implement age-appropriate lessons, activities, and routines to promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
Key Responsibilities:
Education and Experience:
o Be at least 18 years of age
o High school diploma or GED
o One year minimum experience in licensed early childcare facility
o CDA preferred but not required
o State required training for early childcare and additional in-service training
Physical Demands:
o Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
o Move or carry equipment and children
o Sit and play with children on the floor and outdoors
o Able to move quickly, bend, squat, kneel, and reach as needed
o Clean all areas and aspects of the center
Environmental Conditions:
o Active and very lively environment
o Hot and humid conditions
o Cold temperatures
o Strong and sensitive odors associated with toileting and illness
Licenses and Certifications:
o CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain and maintain
o Maintains 24 annual training hours as required by Texas HHS regulations
o Must be able to pass a background check and drug test prior to hire
