DescriptionAsplundh Engineering Services is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Substation Design Manager to join our expanding substation design team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the design and development of electrical substations, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and delivering projects on time and within budget. This role also involves managing client-specific engagements, projects, and interactions to ensure client satisfaction and project success.

This position offers the flexibility of remote work; however, the selected candidate must be available to work during Eastern Standard Time (EST) hours.
Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a team of engineers, designers, and drafters in the creation of detailed design packages for substation projects.
• Ensure all designs comply with industry standards, regulations, and client specifications.
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to integrate various aspects of substation design.
• Review and approve design documents, drawings, and specifications.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
• Coordinate with project managers to ensure timely delivery of design milestones.
• Conduct site visits and inspections as needed to support project execution.
• Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
• Manage client-specific engagements, including project kick-offs, progress meetings, and final delivery presentations.
• Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, addressing their needs, concerns, and feedback throughout the project lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships to ensure repeat business and client satisfaction.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in substation design or a related field.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Experience in client management and project coordination.
