Description
- Completes assigned painting projects with quality workmanship by preparing surfaces for painting using sandpaper, power sanders, steel wool, wire brushes, scrappers, paint removers and chemicals.
- Filling nail holes, cracks, or joints with putty, plaster or other fillers.
- Practices preventive maintenance of painting tools and equipment by performing spot checks of equipment to determine their working condition.
- Maintain inventory of supplies like paint brushes, roller, tarps, tape, plaster and paint.
- Make on-site preparations such as covering trim, floors, furniture and other surfaces with making tape, drop cloths and other protective coverings to keep them free of paint.
- Collaborating with other design and construction specialists
- Perform final inspection to ensure quality and accuracy of work.
- Contributes to the overall success of Facilities Maintenance by performing other essential duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Must have at least 5 years' experience in commercial or residential painting
- High School Diploma or GED Preferred
- Superb attention to detail
- Clear and effective written and communication skills
- Excellent knowledge of painting material and how to select, mix and apply them.
- Capability of using appropriate tools (brushes, caulking guns etc.)
- Must have great time management/initiative and be able to meet deadlines.
- Must be able to lift 75 lbs. without assistance.
- Must be able to pass a background investigation, drug test, and physical exam.
- Must be a US or Naturalized Citizen.
- Must possess a valid South Carolina driver’s license and able to operate a motor vehicle.
