Position Summary

Under the direction of the Facility/Corporate Logistics Manager, this position is accountable for ensuring the shipping and receiving department meets its daily and yearly goals. Coordinates activities and efforts required for optimum utilization of resources available to them.

Essential Job Functions and Accountabilities

• Supervises the shipping and receiving activities.
• Ensure that orders are sent on time and correctly to customers.
• Communicates with customer service when there are delays in shipping
• Ensures employees are adhering to 6S guidelines
• Trains material handlers to do their job accurately and safely
• Cross trains employees.
• Interact effectively with various levels of the organization.
• Leads by example in safety
• Ability to resolve any shipping issues
• Interpret safety guidelines and policies of organization with employees

• Ensures shipping and receiving area is kept neat and clean
• Meet daily quotas for the shipping function.
• Perform job duties in a safe manner
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

• Prepare Bills of Lading on-line and make calls to trucking lines
• Working knowledge of UPS
• Compile shipments based on customer requirements based on daily/weekly shipping lists
• Call in shipments when parts are ready
• Handles international shipping
• Look for and identify damage to all incoming shipments
• Inform Supervisor of any issues with operation or quality
• Maintain a clean workstation
• Must wear proper PPE at all times and conform to all safety rules and regulations
• Perform any other task asked by Management

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Previous supervisory experience
• Minimum 5 years experience working in shipping
• Must be able to lift minimal of 50 lbs periodically

Educational & Certification

Software Skills

• Must be computer literate with Excel, MRP system, UPS and XA and IFS a plus
