The Technical Paraprofessional position consists of assisting and working in collaboration with teachers to enhance and support learning experiences of students in technical programs.QUALIFICATIONS:•Associate’s Degree Required (Major in Education preferred)•Knowledge Computer-Assisted Educational techniques•Knowledge and experience working with adolescents•Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, (word, excel, etc.)PERFORMANCE ACCOUNTABILITIES:The Delivery of Instruction•Work in technical settings (shops/classrooms) to support all students in collaboration with the technical teachers, special educators and department lead teachers•Assist individual students in completion of shop hands-on and written assignments•Assist in preparing and distributing specialized instructional material•Assist students in utilizing educational technology and softwareRecords and Reports•Prepare paperwork, compile data, and maintain records as necessary•Maintain files for tests, work sheets and other items as assigned by the Director of Technical ProgramsClassroom Management•Support and adhere to the disciplinary policies and procedures of the school in collaboration with the classroom teacher•Supervise student make-up work in collaboration with technical teachersProfessional Responsibilities•Support the philosophy and mission statement of the school•Participate in professional development activities offered by the district•Maintain professional dress, punctuality, and attendance•Establish a professional, courteous working relationship with staff and students•Maintain the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information as is expected of fully licensed teachers•Provide coverage for technical teachers as assigned by the Director of Technical Programs•Perform all other duties as assigned by the Director of Technical Programs
