Construction Project Manager
We are looking for a savvy retail construction professional to join our Store Planning and Construction team as a Construction Project Manager.
The ideal candidate will collaborate with our internal team as well as with our client to define scope of work and deliverables, draft and submit budgets, participate in the selection of General Contractors, manage the General Contractor relationship/ deliverables, obtain necessary permits and approvals, manage cost to meet established budgets, manage construction schedule, issue update as needed regarding cost and timelines. Travel is required on average of 1-2 days per week for onsite review of progress and final closeout.
YOUR ROLE WITHIN THE TEAM:
· Manage the construction process for tenant improvement and retail rollout on behalf of our
clients.
· Collaborate with general contractors, engineers, architects, and other vendor partners.
· Responsible for the management and resolution of delay, emergencies and problems that can
occur.
· Ensure work is done in compliance with all relevant building and safety codes.
· Report project progress and provide budget updates to client.
· Communicate technical matters in a clear manner.
· Prepares budget and cost estimates, along with construction schedules.
· Ensures that projects are completed on time and within budget.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:
· Understanding of construction documents and building requirements
· Ability to budget, schedule, negotiate and control cost.
· High degree of familiarity of contract and subcontract documents, terms and conditions.
· Working knowledge of materials and finishes and their proper applications.
· Working knowledge of MEP systems and their proper applications
· Familiarity with building codes, ADA, and construction specifications.
· Ability to manage time effectively to work within set parameters.
· Ability to communicate, both written and verbal, with all levels of internal staff.
YOUR TECHNICAL SKILLS:
· Basic Microsoft Office abilities (word, excel, Outlook).
· Basic Blue beam abilities - Ability to read and redline drawings.
YOUR PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
· Previous experience in retail construction.
· Bachelor’s degree in building construction, Construction Management, Architecture or
Engineering
