Assets, Inc. is seeking a part-time temporary HR Assistant to support the HR department during our Open Enrollment period September through December 2024. The ideal candidate will assist with a variety of HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, data entry, and general administrative tasks. The ideal candidate must have 1-2 years of demonstrated HR experience and will work in-office Monday through Friday 20-29 hr/wk. Pay starting at $20.76 per/hr DOE In accordance with Assets, Inc. core values and mission, this position provides critical administrative support in a variety of human resources functional areas including recruiting, benefits, training and recordkeeping. Works collaboratively with the Human Resources Team on a variety of human resources related projects and initiatives.
This position may require de-escalating verbally or physically aggressive individuals according to identified procedures and individual client protocols.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Adheres to and demonstrates Assets, Inc. core values, mission, policies, procedures, and compliance plan in the performance of all aspects of this position.
Records
- Responsible for maintaining employee-related files according to the company's recordkeeping procedures and standards.
- Processes employee changes and separations.
- Maintains employee personnel files.
Recruitment & Hiring
- Manages recruitment process including posting jobs, screening applicants, creating candidate shortlist, andmaintenance of good faith outreach
- Conducts new hire screening and intakes assisting new employees with hiring documents in accordance with internal procedures and standards. Verifies all documents are completed and maintains accurate records.
- Ensures all Employment Applications and Transfer/Promotion Requests are processed in a timely manner and distributed to the hiring supervisors.
- Coordinates the criminal background check process. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Processing background check requests and results.
- Fingerprinting new employee.
- Maintaining the background check database.
- Processing background check related payments.
- Conduct 30- and 90-day new hire follow-up interviews.
Benefits
- Assists Benefits Administrator in preparing, scheduling, and hosting open enrollment meetings.
- Assists Benefits Administrator as needed with benefit administration, such as processing and reconciliation of billing, benefit data entry.
- Support Benefits Administratorin conducting employee benefit exit interviews.
Administrative
- Ensure smooth communication with employees and timely resolution of their queries.
- Coordinate human resource delivered training related tasks such as communicating with participants, preparing material, and setting up for training.
- Conduct exit interviews for all departing staff.
- Performs various administrative and professional duties related to employee engagement and improving organizational communication:
- Distributes information regarding awards, career opportunities, leisure activities and company events through companywide e-mails, etc.
- Assists the HR Team with special projects and tasks. This includes, but is not limited to the following:
- Participating in job fairs and other community events.
- Providing general clerical support: filing, phone coverage, supply ordering, photocopying, scheduling meetings, typing, posting and distributing, updating bulletin boards, etc.
- Field a wide range of employee inquiries regarding all aspects of HR and provides immediate assistance or refers employees to the appropriate subject expert, as appropriate given the nature of the inquiries and the incumbent's level of training and expertise.
- Provide back-up support to the front desk as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Education and/or Experience: - High School Diploma or GED; and
- 1-2 years of Human Resources experience
- NOTE: Additional related education may be substituted for experience.
Language Skills:Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills:Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:Ability to apply common sense understanding to carryout instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:Valid driver's license and an insured vehicle required. Must be able to pass a criminal background check under state regulations. Must provide proof of insurance and educational credentials (if applicable) at time of hire. Desired Skills and Abilities - Previous human resources experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
