This is a part-time, year-round role with Bitter Lake Community Center. ARC, in partnership with Seattle Parks and Recreation, serves Seattle by offering access to licensed childcare and a variety of recreational and lifelong learning programs, classes, and activities. In this role, the Licensed Childcare Center Preschool Assistant Teacher will be responsible for engaging participants and leading activities for preschool participants between the ages of 3 and 5. The Licensed Childcare Center Preschool Assistant Teacher is responsible for maintaining a safe, fun, inclusive environment welcoming to all. Location: Bitter Lake Community Center Licensed Childcare Center Preschool Assistant Teacher Responsibilities:
Assists the lead teacher with leading daily curriculum activities with a classroom of children ages 3-5 years old
Models appropriate behavior and provides opportunities for social and emotional growth
Ensures a ratio of 1:8 (staff to children) is maintained as much as possible to ensure that children are safe and accounted for
Reports to the Associated Recreation Council Licensed Childcare Center Director
Licensed Childcare Center Preschool Assistant Teacher Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age or older
Initial ECE Certificate or equivalent is preferred
Must have High School Diploma, or GED, or college transcripts or other secondary education
At least one year of experience working with groups of children between the ages of 3-5 years old in a preschool setting
Must meet or obtain DCYF licensing requirements prior to working in the program
Schedule:
Monday - Friday up to 25 hours per week between the hours of 8:00am - 3:00pm
Hiring by Date: As soon as possible
Pay:
$22.00 hourly, non-exempt; part-time position
Full wage range: $22.00 - 25.30/hr (Employee may earn up to $25.30/hr with additional years of employment)
