Job Location: ARC Headquarters - Seattle, WA
Salary Range: $29.69 - $31.79 Hourly

If you have a background in Behavioral Sciences Special Education, Associated Recreation Council (ARC) has a role for you as a Program Accommodations Lead. This role boasts competitive pay and outstanding benefits including 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision coverage.

ARC, in partnership with Seattle Parks and Recreation, serves Seattle by offering access to licensed childcare and a variety of recreational and lifelong learning programs, classes, and activities. The Program Accommodations Lead is responsible for developing and managing accommodations to meet the specific needs of participants with varying physical disabilities, emotional and behavioral disorders, and/or health impairments for ARC’s licensed and recreation school-age and preschool programs at multiple locations. The Program Accommodations Lead will work across the system to establish and strengthen positive relationships with families, participants, and ARC/Seattle Parks & Recreation (SPR) staff. This role reports to the Program Accommodations Manager.

The person in this role will gain a solid understanding of social justice, prompting a careful examination of how external systems impact our endeavors, particularly in the context of racism and intersectionality. You will gain proficiency in the fundamental principles of anti-racism work, the capability to seamlessly incorporate these principles into daily responsibilities, adeptness in diverse settings, and a commitment to advocating for anti-racism policies are pivotal skills and values for this role. Program Accommodations Lead duties and responsibilities include:

  • Oversees the creation and implementation of support plans to ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality programs for participants with disabilities, emotional and behavioral disorders and/or health impairments.
  • Leads program staff through training, problem-solving, conflict resolution and/or quality improvement.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws and regulations pertaining to the Americans Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA). Keeps up to date on current trends and developments regarding all applicable laws.

Program Accommodations Lead requirements include:

  • BS/BA degree in a related field. Education may be substituted by providing evidence of ability to perform the tasks through a combination of education, training or experience.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in program and facility operations for preschool and/or school-aged care program preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of experience working with children requiring accommodation in accordance with the ADA.

Work Location:

  • Employee will conduct assessments in multiple locations.
  • ARC Headquarters: 300 Elliott Ave W., Seattle, WA 98119

Pay:

  • Starting Salary Range: $29.69 – 31.79/hr (Non-exempt) (Depending on experience)
  • Full Salary Range: $29.69 – 38.09/hr (Over time, the employee in this role may earn up to $39.89 per hour with additional years of service.)
