Job Details Level Entry Job Location Garfield Community Center - Seattle, WA Salary Range $20.00 - $24.00 Hourly Job Category Education Description Summer Activity Camp Kitchen Science Instructor (Garfield) The Associated Recreation Council (ARC), in partnership with Seattle Parks & Recreation, is hiring a Kitchen Science Camp Instructor. The Kitchen Science Instructor will be responsible for programming and delivering fun lesson plans that get kids interested in the science of cooking and curious about how to conduct experiments with items they might find in their own kitchens. Camps are offered to kids aged 6-8 and 9-12. The instructor must have the ability to engage with a diverse group of children and manage a classroom of students. A passion for cooking, kitchen safety, messy science and kids are a must! Pay Range: $20.00 - $24.00 hourly DOE/non-exempt; seasonal summer position only Activity Camp Location:

Camp Schedule:
Daily Hours: 1:15pm-5:45pm
Paid prep time
Work dates are contingent on camps meeting the minimum enrollment
Develop and deliver developmentally appropriate activity camp lesson plans/activities in the subject areas of cooking, food safety and science to kids ages 6-12 with support from the Activity Camp Supervisor
Use critical thinking to problem-solve and manage conflict
Generate supply lists for each camp; there will be some class supply funds available
Food Handlers Certificate is required prior to start of camp
Prior youth programming experience required
Must have demonstrated working experience working with families, community members and partners to foster positive relationships
