Summer Activity Camp: Movie Critic Camp Instructor (Garfield)
The Associated Recreation Council (ARC), in partnership with Seattle Parks & Recreation, is hiring a Movie Critic Camp Instructor. The instructor will be responsible for creating lessons and teaching the fundamentals of journalism, how to watch movies with purpose, providing a framework for review-writing, and more. The instructor must have the ability to engage with a diverse group of children and manage a classroom of students. A passion for film is a must!
Work Weeks:

• 3 weeks of camp: August 5-9, Aug 12-16, Aug 19-23

Camp Schedule:

• Daily Hours: 1:15pm-5:45pm
• Paid prep time
• Work dates are contingent on camps meeting the minimum enrollment

Pay Range:

• $24.50-$26.50/hr

• Garfield Community Center

Summer Activity Camp: Movie Critic Camp Instructor Requirements:

• Develop and deliver developmentally appropriate activity camp lesson plans/activities to kids ages 9-12 for a camp running 4 hours per day, 20 hours a week
• Maintain documentation on camp participants to ensure security and youth safety- including but not limited to sign in sheets, medical needs and parenting plans
• Use critical thinking to problem-solve and manage conflict
• Generate supply lists for each camp; there will be some class supply funds available
• Maintain camp appropriate professional appearance
• Daily set-up, take down and cleaning of space

Summer Activity Camp: Movie Critic Camp Instructor Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Prior youth programming experience required
• Must have demonstrated working experience working with families, community members and partners to foster positive relationships
