Summer Activity LEGO Camp Instructor (Garfield)
The Associated Recreation Council (ARC), in partnership with Seattle Parks and Recreation is hiring a LEGO Camp Instructor . This Instructor will lead a group of youth between the ages of 5-8 building simple to complicated structures, vehicles and objects with Legos. The participants will learn the fundamental principles of engineering, enhance personal creativity and learn to collaborate with other students.
Location: Garfield Community Center
Pay Rate: $20.00-26.50/ hour DOE
Work Weeks:
  • 2 weeks of camp: July 15-19, July 22-26
Camp Schedule:
  • Daily Hours: 1:15pm-5:45pm
  • Paid prep time
  • Work dates are contingent on camps meeting the minimum enrollment
Summer Activity LEGO Camp Instructor Requirements:
  • Develop and deliver developmentally appropriate activity camp lesson plans/activities to kids ages 5-8 for a camp running 4 hours per day, 20 hours a week
  • Maintain documentation on camp participants to ensure security and youth safety- including but not limited to sign in sheets, medical needs and parenting plans
  • Use critical thinking to problem-solve and manage conflict
  • Generate supply lists for each camp; there will be some class supply funds available
  • Maintain camp appropriate professional appearance
  • Daily set-up, take down and cleaning of space
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Prior youth programming experience required
  • Must have demonstrated working experience working with families, community members and partners to foster positive relationships
  • If hired, you will have approximately 3 hours of Human Resources new hire onboarding/training.
