Job Details Level Entry Job Location Garfield Community Center - Seattle, WA Salary Range $20.00 - $26.50 Hourly Job Category Education Description Summer Activity LEGO Camp Instructor (Garfield) The Associated Recreation Council (ARC), in partnership with Seattle Parks and Recreation is hiring a LEGO Camp Instructor . This Instructor will lead a group of youth between the ages of 5-8 building simple to complicated structures, vehicles and objects with Legos. The participants will learn the fundamental principles of engineering, enhance personal creativity and learn to collaborate with other students. Location: Garfield Community Center Pay Rate: $20.00-26.50/ hour DOE Work Weeks:
2 weeks of camp: July 15-19, July 22-26
Camp Schedule:
Daily Hours: 1:15pm-5:45pm
Paid prep time
Work dates are contingent on camps meeting the minimum enrollment
Develop and deliver developmentally appropriate activity camp lesson plans/activities to kids ages 5-8 for a camp running 4 hours per day, 20 hours a week
Maintain documentation on camp participants to ensure security and youth safety- including but not limited to sign in sheets, medical needs and parenting plans
Use critical thinking to problem-solve and manage conflict
Generate supply lists for each camp; there will be some class supply funds available
Maintain camp appropriate professional appearance
Daily set-up, take down and cleaning of space
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age or older
Prior youth programming experience required
Must have demonstrated working experience working with families, community members and partners to foster positive relationships
If hired, you will have approximately 3 hours of Human Resources new hire onboarding/training.
