Association for Project Safety is Hiring a Marketing and Communications Officer Near Edinburgh, IN

Job Title: Marketing and Communications Officer

The primary objective of this role is to enhance the visibility and engagement of the Association for Project Safety (APS) by developing, implementing, optimising, tracking, and evaluating a comprehensive marketing and communications plan across multiple social media platforms.

The Marketing and Communications Officer will support all facets of the organisation. This role is crucial in managing and delivering APS’s social media engagement with its members and key stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will spearhead campaigns and projects from concept to completion, utilising SEO strategies tailored for B2C marketing. They should be proficient in using data analytics tools like Google Analytics and possess some familiarity with CMS systems to aid in updating the APS website and content. 

Additionally, the candidate should be able to work independently but also collaboratively with team members to promote APS events (webinars, conferences) and disseminate industry updates.

Key areas of responsibility include:

SOCIAL MEDIA 

  • Overseeing all company social media account management. 
  • Developing engaging, creative, innovative content for regularly scheduled posts which enlighten audiences and promote brand-focused messages. 
  • Analysing social media campaigns with tracking systems to gather visitor data and determine efficacy and areas for social media campaign improvement.

 DESIGN 

  •  Work with brand guidelines to design (using Canva) content for social media and print such as briefing notes, event collateral, adverts etc.
  •  Creating short videos for promotion to be used on social media and the website. 
  •  Edit webinar recordings ready for sale/members area.

 WEBSITE

  •  Manage APS website including: researching, creating, drafting, commissioning and uploading content training will be provided.
  •  Liaising with contractors/stakeholders as appropriate; project management of website development, website activities and supporting the external website provider.

 EMAIL MARKETING

  •  Undertaking email communications for The Association [using Mailchimp].
  •  Identify, research, draft/ commission, edit, produce, publish and distribute papers, publications and submissions including: news releases; articles; and items for use in print, on-line and on social media.
  •  Membership engagement.

 GENERAL

  •  Create and execute marketing plans, using Google Analytics, CRM data and other marketing tools to track performance and trends.
  •  Manage and maintain relationships with external companies to boost lead generation through affiliate partnerships.
  •  Prepare yearly the Marketing and Communications budget, track, monitor and operate within the budget set. 
  •  Manage the association’s intellectual copyright.
  •  Working closely with colleagues to ensure all marketing material is prepared and distributed on time and in budget and develop activities to support and grow APS membership.
  •  Develop for approval by the CEO an effective, timed and costed marketing and communications strategy to support APS business' objectives.

Key Skills:

  • Track record of effective communication both orally and in writing
  • Copy writing and editing skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to think creatively and critically about multi-media content whilst ensuring alignment with brand guidelines
  • Knowledge of Microsoft, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook marketing and automation services, digital marketing tools, social media planning tools 
  • Flexible and adaptable
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Ability to work on own initiative and within a small team 
  • Canva or other creative design platform 
  • Commitment to APS missions and values
  • Desire to learn and develop marketing 

Qualifications:

Professional qualification in marketing, communication or a related discipline and least 3 years experience is required.

Salary is based on experience
