Overview

As a General Office Appeals Assistant you will prescreen incoming appeals. Respond promptly to claims appeals within ERISA/DOL guidelines, plan documents, and Keenan policies and procedures. Research, track and report trends for appeals and discuss with clients to ensure consistency with the claim’s appeals process.

Keenan, an Accretive company, is an insurance brokerage and consulting firm meeting the insurance needs of hospitals, public entities and California school districts. Keenan specializes in providing consulting services in the areas of: employee benefits, workers' compensation, loss control, financial, and property & liability.

What You'll Do

• Research and enter appeals into the appropriate system according to appeal level.
• Respond to claims appeals according to regulatory guidelines and Keenan procedures.
• Assist with documentation to members and providers with appeal determinations.
• Provide updates to customer service, clients, members and providers responding to complaints and inquiries.
• Coordinate with clients and external review partners as well as internal resources during the appeal determination process and documenting any interactions and decisions throughout the process.
• Follow-up on pending items related to appeals, review claim reports and call logs to determine necessary action.
• Other duties as assigned

What You'll Need

• Minimum one year of general office experience.
• Excellent accuracy, attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Basic data entry knowledge.
• Excellent communication skills.

Compensation:

The target salary range for this position is $42,000.00 (US Dollar) annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.
