About the Job:

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Senior Accountant to lead the preparation and analysis of financial statements and operational reports, while leading a group of staff accountants in performing daily accounting and month-end closing activities. The Senior Accountant will be involved daily in all accounting-related topics including but not limited to GL account reconciliations, review of journal entries, managing accounts payable, tax liability, and other activities. This position will report to the Vice President of Finance and includes an opportunity for growth within the company.

Responsibilities:

• Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in accordance with GAAP and regulatory standards.
• General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, posting journal entries, accruals, and adjustments as necessary to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
• Revenue Recognition: Review and analyze revenue recognition transactions, ensuring compliance with accounting policies and regulatory guidelines.
• Expense Management: Manage expense accounting processes, including accounts payable, expense accruals, and prepaid expenses, reconciling accounts and identifying variances.
• Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis and variance analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks, providing insights to management to support strategic decision-making.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts, including cash flow forecasts collaborating with department heads and management to develop financial plans and targets.
• Internal Controls/Accounting Procedures: Support team by reviewing and implementing internal controls and accounting procedures to ensure compliance and streamlined operations
• Tax Compliance: Assist in tax compliance efforts, providing information to external tax advisors, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Master’s degree preferred); CPA certification preferred
• 5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles
• Strong understanding of US GAAP, accounting processes, and regulatory requirements
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping and reporting
• Ensures timely identification of issues and works with relevant business areas to document and coordinate solutions
• Proficiency in Quickbooks and Microsoft Office
