Aston Carter is Hiring an Outside Sales Representative Near Beaverton, OR

Description:

This Account Manager position which is focused on new business development within existing and new customers in specific industry segments. It will require some travel and face to face time with customers. This is not an entry level position. This AM would be taking over a territory which is largely architectural clientele They will have a sales admin who support them once sale is made. On a day to day basis this person will be responsible for prospecting, cold calling, setting meetings, qualifying leads, communicating effectively with customers and internal team members, and executing in building relationships. There will be metrics around the amount of calls and meetings this person will be conducting on a weekly basis. These metrics will be more of a framework for success. Within this role they will have the support of Fred, but will be responsible for working independently and being a self starter. The Account Manager position performs the following operations: 1. Business Development 2. Territory Planning 3. Account Management 4. Client Relationship Management 5. Prospecting 6. Work with management to develop sales plans & forecast sales for territory or responsible customers 7. Skilled in customer, vendor and internal relations 8. Maintain account base and grow business through best practice sales techniques 9. Harvest new business/accounts via inbound and outbound sales and marketing 10. Produce formal quotes, re-quotes & worksheets 11. Able to retrieve or provide pricing information & report sales performance 12. Maintain & extract information in Access quote program 13. Knowledge of tooling resources & buy-out of service vendors & products 14. Ability to operate company customer relationship management (CRM) software 15. Process and ensure drawing control 16. Research, retrieve and understand specifications 17. Document quotes and contract reviews 18. Report sales performance & projections to Director of Sales/Management Ideal candidate would have an understanding geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) principles and able to read part prints, but this is not a must have!

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Must haves: - 1 year of inside sales or account management experience - Someone with proven B2B collaborative sales experience, especially within a manufacturing environment. - Ability to engage with prospective clients and build relationships - Desire to grow and be proactive - Looking for someone who is independent, wants to learn, and is ready to hit the ground running. They are wanting a hunter type (someone who actively looks for new business rather than support current clients) Ideal candidate would come from a manufacturing industry Someone with proven B2B collaborative sales experience, especially within a manufacturing environment. These are highly technical industries and require interfacing with multiple facets of an organization, including engineering. Must be able to pick up technical lingo, through onsite training and research. The ability to speak with engineers in their language would be desirable, i.e. some technical aptitude/ background . A salesperson with a hunter mindset, experienced in market research, prospecting, cold calling and harvesting new business. Excellent closing skills are a must. We would also like someone experienced with CRM. Will be going through a new CRM implementation at end of July
