Job Title: Manager - Provider Relations & Growth

Department: Strategy & Operations Department

About the Role:

We are currently seeking a dynamic Provider Relations Growth Manager who will oversee the daily management of the provider relations strategy for all contracted providers. The Manager will be responsible for both field and office activities, delivering Astrana Health-specific education and support to our providers within the network. Responsibilities also include improving operational efficiency across all contracted practices to ensure overall provider satisfaction and collaborating with the practices to ensure compliance with CMS standards. This role requires exceptional communication skills, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of the healthcare industry.

What You’ll Do:

  • Work closely with the Vice President Strategy & Partnerships to execute partnership initiatives throughout the year, reporting regularly on aggregate team progress, roadblocks, and provider feedback.
  • Routine visits to providers in assigned territory to develop a trusted relationship and maintain open lines of communication between Astrana Health and our providers.
  • Conduct provider onboarding, orientation, and ongoing value-based care educational training throughout the year to ensure providers are engaged in our initiatives, meet any necessary deadlines, and remain compliant with state and federal regulations as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Lead and mentor a team of provider relations specialists, providing guidance, support, and coaching to ensure high performance and professional growth.
  • Assign tasks, set goals, and monitor progress to ensure team objectives are met in alignment with organizational goals and priorities.
  • Develop and implement strategies for retention, growth, and marketing within assigned territories.
  • Problem-solve and identify ways to address provider issues timely and effectively.
  • Work cross-functionally with internal departments
  • Other duties assigned by department leaders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience.
  • 2-3 years of experience in managing provider relations, network management, or a similar role within the healthcare industry
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to lead and motivate a team to achieve shared goals and objectives.
  • Ability to travel occasionally as needed for provider meetings, conferences, or other events.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills and Microsoft Office programs (i.e., Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)

  • Strong understanding of managed care and value-based care preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team, set clear objectives, and drive performance towards achieving organizational goals.
  • Comprehensive understanding of healthcare delivery systems, reimbursement models, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in developing contract strategies, identifying opportunities for cost savings or performance improvement, and mitigating risks.
  • Experienced in healthcare industry operations, fostering provider engagement, and navigating Medicare Advantage systems.
  • Relentlessly resourceful. You enjoy taking ownership and can get things done without excuses. You are resilient, detail-oriented, and truly believe that no task is beneath you
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and biased towards action. You enjoy thinking about complex and ambiguous problems and can execute consistently and add compounding value.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • A strong communicator possessing persistence, patience, and the ability to frame or explain topics in a manner suited to each unique audience.

Environmental Job Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Our organization follows an in-person work structurewhere the expectation is to work in office or in the field on a weekly basis.
  • This is a field representative position and requires traveling depending on assignments or projects. This could be 2-3 times per week, and also requires monthly visits to provider offices.
  • Occasionally required to work overtime and /or during the weekend. Must always have and maintain a reliable source of transportation.
  • The total compensation target pay range for this role is $90,000 - $105,000. This salary range represents our national target range for this role.
