Astro Pak Corp is Hiring a Field Technician Near Ontario, CA
Position OpportunityThe Associate Technician performs entry-level Field Services duties to gain knowledge and understanding of cleaning and passivation of vessels and piping. Under supervision, Associate Technicians work together to complete the process safely and expediently to prevent unnecessary downtime of the customer equipment. Proper calculations and installation of Astro Pak equipment plus vigilant operation of said equipment are necessary.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Install, connect, and set up operation for Astro Pak equipment to customer’s systems to execute chemical cleaning process while wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Load/Unload vehicle with proper equipment/chemicals for specific job assignments.
- Ability to drive Astro Pak vehicle(s); including Forklift; Trucks, Sprinter Vans; etc.
- Works with various chemicals including but not limited to citric, caustic, and other hazardous chemicals.
- Extensive overnight travel (over 80%) by land and/or air.
- Handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Complete all required Safety Training including OSHA Certification.
- Competence to comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures.
- Maintains work area clean to CEO (Clean, Efficient, Organized)/5S Standards.
- Other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager.
- A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is strongly preferred or equivalent experience is required.
- Possess a valid Medical DOT Certificate.
- Technical Training or an AA Degree is preferred.
- HAZWOPER, OSHA, and Confined Space Certifications are preferred.
Schedule
- Willing and able to work significant overtime, including holidays, weekends, and on short notice call in as required.
- 30-50% of work shifts may require working a night shift.
- Ability to read and understand work instructions, documents, correspondence, and memos.
- Effective communication skills which include verbal and written in English.
- Ability to operate and lift weight-bearing equipment that can weigh up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to don proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for different chemical mixing processes.
- Ability to wear a respirator as needed and/or required based on assignment.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical functions. Should be able to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
- Moderate computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Environment
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts.
- Will be exposed to dust, fumes, smoke, toxic chemicals, and disagreeable odors.

- Wet or humid conditions (indoors).
- Working on ladders, rooftops, bucket trucks, scaffolding, etc.
- Exposed to vibration (i.e. operating jackhammer, impact wrench).

- The pay for this position is a salary of $20 to $21. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
