Astronics Advanced Electrical Systems (AES) is seeking a Staff Level Customer Engineer to join our Airborne Power Control (APC) Product Team in Kirkland, WA . This is an on-site position.

JOB SUMMARY
The Staff Customer Engineer (CE) will provide technical support and advice to Astronics’ customers during the period where they are either evaluating or performing integration of our Aircraft Power Control (APC) products. (This is currently provided ad-hoc by various teams). The Customer Engineer will pull together and manage the tools that our customers will use for evaluation or integration activities. This position requires an aircraft systems and software technical skillset and the ability to communicate well with customers.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Support new or prospective customer evaluations of APC products into their aircraft platforms. The ultimate objective for this position is enhance the customer experience of our products by ensuring that they know, understand, and enjoy our products. Key to this objective will be to make the evaluation and/or adoption process of our products seamless and enjoyable. Understanding and improving the customer experience will be a natural outcome of that objective. Knowledge and application of systems integration and power systems will be critical to the success of this role.
Coordinate and advise on the development of tools that our customers need to evaluate or integrate our systems into their aircraft. Coordinate internally to ensure that the proper tools, training, documents, and processes are in place to support new or prospective customer evaluations of our products. Communicate and collaborate with key engineering, program management, business development, APC leadership and other groups to make sure that customer needs are well coordinated, and a plan is in place to address the needs with the appropriate team(s).
Grow the customer relationship with Astronics. In this role, the CE identifies opportunities and provides proactive issue resolution to support customer satisfaction. The intent is to be a trusted advisor, so when customers have a technical question or need, they will seek advice from the CE.
Provide guidance into strategic planning and help set the technical direction of product sets. Identify and consolidate customer requirements and desires for assessment as a feature enhancement or new product. This effort will be performed in conjunction with chief engineers, engineering, business development and APC leadership.
Track and manage products and tools that are provided to our customers. The CE is responsible for managing loaner units, ensuring that customers have the most current information, documentation, and tools. This includes providing and tracking which products and tools are provided to which customers, how long they’ll have them and if on-loan when they are expected to be returned. Software and documentation will be provided via a web-based tool.
In summary, the CE will provide a cross discipline skill set to aid the many support requests that are expected. This will alleviate the ad-hoc demands placed on engineering and will boost the expected growth in customer requests.

Base Salary is $122,003 - $183,004 per year . Several job-related and non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to experience in comparable roles, skill sets, training, education, licensure or certifications, other qualifications, market conditions and business needs influence actual salary offered.
