ASU Career Services is Hiring a Data Analyst Near Arizona, AZ

Under the direction of the Director of Marketing Technology & Behavioral Analytics, the Data Analyst is responsible for the strategic creation and support of measurement solutions that support behavioral and marketing analytics within EdPlus. This includes, but is not limited to digital analytics products, data integrations, and business intelligence dashboards. These efforts are deployed to support effective marketing campaigns, improve user experience, and increase operational efficiency to support the ASU Charter.
This is a hybrid role and the incumbent of this position will be required to work from our office located in Scottsdale, Arizona three days per week (ideally in office on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and one other day that aligns with other work activities).
Essential Duties:
  • Be responsible for guiding and overseeing the ingestion, analysis, and visualization of data collected from the various digital channels within EdPlus.
  • Mentor a team of analysts and student workers, providing guidance, training, and support.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to extract valuable data from our analytics platforms, identify trends, and drive data-driven decision-making within the organization.
  • Design customized reports, dashboards, and data visualization solutions to effectively communicate insights and findings to stakeholders.
  • Work with our Google Technical Partnership team to implement best in class, durable, measurement solutions.
  • Lead the implementation and configuration of Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager and other marketing technology tools across units to effectively track and measure website and marketing performance.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop
  • measurement strategies to track marketing and business goals.
  • Ensure 1st-party data collection is consistent following established data-layer standards and user consent preferences.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in digital marketing, marketing technology, and web analytics.
Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Education, or related field AND two (2) years previous software support experience; OR, Any combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Track record of using data and insights to drive change and implement new initiatives.
  • Experience with synthesizing large scale data sets to generate insights and recommendations.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with key partners and stakeholders to define metrics, identify requirements and solve problems independently.
  • Extensive experience with web analytics tools such as Google Analytics GA4 or Universal Analytics
  • Experience with data storytelling leveraging business intelligence solutions such as Google Looker Studio.
  • Experience working within a data warehouse (Google BigQuery, Amazon Redshift, Snowflake)
  • Demonstrated experience using SQL, Javascript, and/or Python.
  • Experience working with a Tag Management solution such as Google Tag Manager or Tealium iQ.
  • Experience with an A/B testing tool such as Optimizely or VWO.
  • Experience in using presentation skills.
  • Evidence of interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Evidence of a bachelor's degree or higher in a related field.

Working Environment
EdPlus at ASU is located at SkySong, the ASU Scottsdale Innovation Center. The center houses a diverse business community that links technology, research, education, and entrepreneurship to position ASU and Greater Phoenix as global leaders in the knowledge economy.
Activities are primarily performed in a regular, climate-controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting or standing. Daily use of desktop or laptop computer is required. Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential duties. Regular review of completed tasks.
EdPlus at ASU supports flexible work options, ranging from alternate work schedules to hybrid remote work schedules, subject to approvals per ASU policy. (This is not a fully remote position.)
