At Home Care of Kentucky is Hiring a Director of Private Duty Nursing Near Bowling Green, KY

At Home Care of Kentucky is a home care company providing in-home non-medical assistance for elderly, post-surgery, post-partum, or any other individuals. At Home Care of Kentucky also provides private-duty nursing services for individuals needing home nursing care while under doctor’s orders. The Director of Patient Care Services provides overall planning, direction, coordination, management, and supervision of all nursing and professional services in conjunction with the Administrator.
Annual Salary: $72k with experience

1. Keeps Administrator informed of all events which occur.
2. Advises the Administrator as to basis of contracting health services to be provided.
3. Provides the Administrator with statistical data involving patients and health services areas, as required.
4. Evaluates, reviews, revises, and implements policies and procedures; goals and objectives; and standards of care relevant to patient services and personnel functions, under the direction of Administrator and Compliance Officer.
5. Performs patient care responsibilities considering needs specific to the standard of care for patient’s age.
6. Ability to adequately assess and reassess pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques. Educates the patient and family regarding pain management.
7. Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
8. Demonstrates knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age of the patient and the patient’s clinical position.
9.Follows the five (5) medication rights and reduces the potential for medication errors.
10. Addresses and supports cultural practices, as long as such practices do not harm others or interfere with the planned course of medical therapy.
11. Coordinates all patients’ services by reviewing plans of treatment, assuring case conferences are conducted, reviewing clinical and progress notes, periodic patient evaluations and determining frequency and/or staffing patterns.
12. Assists in maintaining the Agency’s annual budget.
13. Aids in the Agency’s goal of retaining quality personnel by appropriately hiring, orienting, training, evaluating and disciplining personnel within established policy.
14. Ensures personnel are scheduled to ensure proper coverage within authorized staffing levels.
15. Ensures orientation and ongoing training programs are developed and provided for Agency personnel.
16. Ensures personnel receive timely, complete, and documented orientation and training.
17. Conducts performance evaluations in a timely, measurable, and objective manner. Communicates this information to the Administrator.
18. Maintains a working knowledge of current Medicare, Medicaid, and third party payer requirements for home care reimbursement.
19. Communicates and coordinates with physician’s offices, payers, patients/families, outpatient services and inpatient coordinator, regarding the care and status of the patient.
20. Keeps up-to-date on new methods, products, trends, etc., and communicates this information to personnel.

21. Participates in the Agency’s information management and performance improvement programs.
22. Supports and complies with the Agency’s policies.
23. Completes annual education requirements, as required.
24. Maintains regulatory requirements, including all state, federal, and accreditation requirements.
25. Maintain Kentucky nursing license and any other applicable certifications for the entire duration of employment.
26. Potentially facilitate TB screenings on a regular (no more often than monthly) basis. Conditions to be discussed further, as needed.

39. Reports to Administrator and Managing Members (ownership team).
1. Registered Nurse with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
2. Three years of experience in home health, private duty, or community health services preferred.
3. At least one year supervisory and administrative experience.
4. Current license from the KY Board of Nursing.
5. Current CPR certification.
6. Competency in general nursing theory, techniques, and practice.
7. Ability to plan, coordinate, direct, and control the health services of At Home Care of KY.
8. Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) in order to interact effectively and courteously with all people.
9. Must be capable of performing essential job functions identified.
10. Ability to tolerate periods of continuous sitting and occasional standing.
11. Ability to bend, twist, stoop, kneel, and reach.
