Position Description:

  • An ATCO dispatcher is responsible for coordinating outgoing and incoming movement of loads to ensure all trucks and drivers are utilized effectively in a timely manner.
  • You'll also be in continuous communication with drivers, vendors, and customers. Primarily by phone but via messaging app and email as well. By doing so, we can provide coordinated and communicated service to our customers.
  • Must know how to read a map on paper as well as a computer (google). Must know major routing without having to reference a map every step of the way. If it is a common route then it should be repeatable when sending multiple drivers along it for pickup and delivery.

Qualifications

  • 1 year of dispatching experience
  • Acceptable equivalent is 1 or more years driving truck in the construction and design build industry with customer service experience in another job
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships and communicate with both external and internal customers
  • Possess excellent computer skills and experience using Microsoft Suite (Excel, Microsoft Word, Outlook), office/data entry and scheduling programs
  • Able to multitask, think fast, and work well under pressure
  • Able to handle a constant high volume of calls both incoming and outgoing.
  • Independent worker

Pay: $51,000 to 60,000 per year
