G.I. Services

All porters / pressure washers employed by GI Services are responsible for all assigned waste collection and pressure washing.

It is expected that every porter / pressure washer employee will conduct his / her self in a professional manner at all times and perform all duties as assigned in a safe manner.

The primary duty of all porters / pressure washers personnel is to perform manual cleaning assignments, operate pressure washing equipment and related company vehicle.

Porters / pressure washers are responsible for the collection and hand loading of commercial, residential, city waste and the pressure washing of surfaces identified in the scope of work.

Our porters / pressure washers must also be able to communicate professionally with customers, dispatch, the general public and GI Services Operations Managers.

Job Description

• Assist in picking up and transporting waste safely, according to all federal, state and local rules and regulations.
• Manual cleaning will include, but not limited to, sweeping, picking up litter, pressure washing, graffiti removal, backpack blowers, bus stop maintenance, bulky pick-up and disposal.
• Pick up specified waste from each customer site scheduled for the day.
• Provide the highest level of customer service to assigned accounts on a daily basis.
• Communicating any issues to Operations Manager, Route Supervisor or Dispatcher for resolution. This includes, but is not limited to re-routes, adjustments in container sizes, training, etc.
• Ensure waste, waste water, supplies, and material handling equipment is secured prior to operating vehicle on public highway.
• Respects the property of all residential, commercial, and city customers.
• Responsible for cleaning the inside and exterior of the trucks, and support equipment on a daily basis and reports any observed maintenance problems.
• Must work safely and carefully to prevent injury to self and others while loading and unloading vehicle.

Physical

• Standing, walking, seeing, hearing, & smelling continuously, climbing.
• Problem solving, oral / written communication, analytical ability, concentration. & interpersonal abilities continuously.
• Eye / hand coordination, handling, & wrist motion continuously.

Environmental

• Exposure to dust, smoke, fumes, odors, grease, oil, chemicals, wet / hot conditions, & noise continuously.
• Works outside only.

Preferred Qualifications

Bilingual English / Spanish Work experience in the waste, environmental services, energy, parking lot maintenance or transportation industry.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma / G.E.D.
• Valid Class C Driver's License. Acceptable Driver Record.
• Exceptional Communication Skills.
• Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Ability to follow route compliant schedules on time and to standard.

Salary : $20.00 - 22.56 per hour.
