Job Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) to join a $10 billion Credit Hedge Fund. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Investment Advisor (IA) compliance, with the ability to launch and build a comprehensive compliance program. The role is best suited for an attorney who can also assist with legal work, offering a potential pathway to a General Counsel (GC) / CCO title. Experience with public REITs is considered a plus.

Compensation

300 - 400k/ year commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a robust Investment Advisor compliance program.
• Oversee all aspects of compliance within the fund, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
• Provide legal support, with the potential to grow into a dual GC/CCO role.
• Monitor, review, and update compliance policies and procedures as needed.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure that compliance protocols are integrated into daily operations.
• Stay abreast of changes in the regulatory landscape and adjust compliance strategies accordingly.

Qualifications

• 8-15 years of experience in Investment Advisor compliance, preferably within the hedge fund industry.
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree with strong legal acumen.
• Experience with public REITs is highly desirable.
• Proven ability to build and manage a compliance program from the ground up.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements affecting hedge funds and investment advisors.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
