Atlantic Group is Hiring a Senior Technical Accounting Manager (M&A) Near Boston, MA
RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage completion of merger and acquisition activities.
This includes contact review, opening balance sheet procedures, valuation procedures, preparation of the acquisition memo, and post-acquisition accounting support.
Evaluate and propose initial accounting for M&A activities.
Perform on-going reviews for portfolio investments.
Partner with key stakeholders to address technical acquisition issues.
Assist with purchase price allocation studies performed by third party valuation firms.
Lead the annual goodwill impairment evaluation under ASC-350.
Assist in establishing accounting policies for acquisitions and investments.
Perform extensive review of new accounting pronouncements.
Provide recommendations throughout M&A process.
Participate in the oversight of the internal controls program.
Participate in the quarterly and annual close process.
Assist with the development of junior team members.
Support the annual audit process with the external accounting firm.
QUALIFICIATIONS
Minimum 6 years work experience in technical accounting roles.
Experience in the Big 4 handling M&A style work.
Bachelor’s degree required.
MBA or CPA preferred.
Advanced knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial controls (SOX 404 and COSO framework).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong skills with Excel and other technology platforms.
Ability to work in a dynamic environment.
Advanced skill in organizing, analyzing, and interpreting data, records, and reports.
Expert analytical skills with advanced problem-solving ability.
