RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage completion of merger and acquisition activities.
• This includes contact review, opening balance sheet procedures, valuation procedures, preparation of the acquisition memo, and post-acquisition accounting support.
• Evaluate and propose initial accounting for M&A activities.
• Perform on-going reviews for portfolio investments.
• Partner with key stakeholders to address technical acquisition issues.
• Assist with purchase price allocation studies performed by third party valuation firms.
• Lead the annual goodwill impairment evaluation under ASC-350.
• Assist in establishing accounting policies for acquisitions and investments.
• Perform extensive review of new accounting pronouncements.
• Provide recommendations throughout M&A process.
• Participate in the oversight of the internal controls program.
• Participate in the quarterly and annual close process.
• Assist with the development of junior team members.
• Support the annual audit process with the external accounting firm.

QUALIFICIATIONS

• Minimum 6 years work experience in technical accounting roles.
• Experience in the Big 4 handling M&A style work.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• MBA or CPA preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial controls (SOX 404 and COSO framework).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong skills with Excel and other technology platforms.
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment.
• Advanced skill in organizing, analyzing, and interpreting data, records, and reports.
• Expert analytical skills with advanced problem-solving ability.
