Compensation:The compensation (range) for this position is $87,360 to $123,427 annually depending on skill. Atlas Copco Mafi-Trench Company LLC pays based on skills and not job seniority. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus. What you will own & improve:
- Engineering Design: You will be the sole Mechanical Engineer on a custom-designed turbo expander package. Review and interpret customer specifications to create manufacturing drawings, material lists and other documentation for the customer. You will design machine skids, and reservoirs and specify coolers, heaters, pumps, motors, filters, and valves.
- Technical Discussions: You will lead technical discussions with the customer and suppliers to find solutions to the project’s requirements.
- Continuous Improvement: You will create ways to improve the engineering process by reducing design cycle time and/or reducing errors while keeping manufacturability in mind.
- Bachelor of Science degree in a mechanical or similar engineering field or equivalent skill set and work experience
- Understand the properties of fluid control systems as they apply to lube oil and seal gas systems.
- General Understanding of API/ASME/ANSI standards.
- Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Solidworks.
- Ability to maintain documentation for design calculations and component selection.
- General understanding of shop fabrication practices; machining, welding, and bending.
- Completion of projects on time and under budget.
- Completion percentage of SCRUM tasks.
- Improvement projects of engineering and manufacturing processes.
- SCRUM process to accomplish tasks within a team.
- PLM and ERP systems (Enovia and SAP)
- Stay up to date on the latest components used in turbo expander support systems.
- Perform systems functional tests in front of inspectors and customers.
Qualification Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or similar field per agreement.
- Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal skills including communication, self-starter, positive make-happen attitude, handling multiple tasks, team player
- Able to learn to self-correct and self-improve.
- Willing to take responsibility for assignments and bring them to simple, effective conclusions.
- Obtain knowledge in API/ASME/ANSI standards as applicable to engineering functions.
- Ability to review, interpret, and design to customer specifications.
- Develop an understanding of fluid control systems as they apply to lube oil and seal gas supply requirements.
- Obtain knowledge of components available in the marketplace that could be used in turbo expander support systems.
- Specify system-level components.
- Develop an understanding of shop fabrication practices. Aide fabrication personnel in technical troubleshooting and issue resolution.
- Communicate with drafting. Read, interact with, and update 3-D models and 2-D drawings as required.
- Support technical meetings with customers and suppliers. Provide accurate technical answers to engineering issues.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation on all responsible projects.
- Follow all applicable company procedures and work instructions.
- Develop an understanding in Mechanical Systems Engineering Processes.
- Working Conditions - Office and Manufacturing Environment
- Essential Physical Tasks – the ability to stand and squat to evaluate parts. Ability to lift/carry 15 lbs.
