We are seeking an Entry Level Environmental Scientist (EIR Scientist) to join our Columbia, SC team! Come join us!

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Successful candidates will work with experience professional consultants in performing environmental assessment and remediation projects related to petroleum and other industrial chemical releases.
  • Candidates must be willing to work both as part of a team and independently in the office as well as in the field on small to large projects. Motivated candidates willing to learn and grow within an organization that has potential for advancement should apply.
  • Performance of site investigations to support environmental projects, including the interpretation of environmental data and report writing.
  • Analysis of sampling data, including summary tables, result interpretation, and sample location maps;
  • Conduct and document field activities such as soil and groundwater sampling, installation of soil borings and monitoring wells, interviews, and tank excavations and/or removals
  • Performance of Phase I/II environmental assessments of a broad range of industrial and commercial facilities;
  • Preparation of technical reports.

Location ATC- Columbia, SC

Minimum requirements:

  • BS in Geology, Engineering or Environmental Science
  • 0-3 years related environmental consulting experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Preferred 40-hour Hazwoper
  • Ability to work effectively on multiple assignments
  • Capable of working independently, under direct supervision of others, and in a team-orientated environment
  • Valid Driver's license and ability to pass a MVR
  • Commitment to safety

Technical requirements:

  • Ability to document clearly field activities conducted
  • SCDHEC reimbursement/technical guidelines experience a plus but not required

Other miscellaneous qualities:

  • 85% field work, 15% office work
  • Ability/willingness to travel and perform moderately strenuous tasks
  • Microsoft PC applications: Word, Excel
