Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• The successful EIR Scientist candidate will work with experienced professional consultants in performing environmental assessment and remediation projects related to petroleum and hazardous waste sites.
• Candidates must be willing to work both as part of a team and independently in the office as well as in the field on small and large projects. Motivated candidates willing to learn and grow within an organization that has potential for advancement should apply.
• Performance of site investigations to support environmental projects, including the interpretation of environmental data and report writing.
• Management/analyses of soil/groundwater data, including summary tables, results interpretation, and mapping.

Location Atlas- Baton Rouge, LA

Minimum Requirements:

• BS in Geology, Engineering, or Environmental Science.
• 3-5 years of related environmental consulting experience.
• Excellent written, oral communication, and time management skills.
• Preferred 40-Hour Hazwoper.
• Ability to work effectively on multiple assignments.
• Capable of working independently, under direct supervision of others, and in a team-oriented environment.
• Must have a valid Driver's License.
• Implement Atlas' safety policies and procedures (commitment to safety).

Technical Requirements:

• Ability to document field activities in detail (notebook and/or camera).
• Basic understanding of soil/groundwater sampling requirements (various methodologies, containers, laboratory requirements, etc.)
• Basic understanding of Phase I/II Environmental Site Assessment requirements.
• Willingness to cross-train in other areas, if needed (wetlands, industrial hygiene, etc.)

Other miscellaneous qualities:

• Ability to travel up to 50% of the time when in the field (50% office, 50% field).
• Microsoft PC applications, Word, Excel
