Atlas Technical Consultants is Hiring an Environmental Scientist (EIR Scientist Near Novi, MI

We are seeking an EIR Scientist 2 to join our Novi, MI team! Come join us!
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Conduct soil and groundwater drilling and sampling activities
  • Groundwater monitoring (various)
  • Technical report production for the Petroleum / Remediation / Due Diligence / Part 201 and 213 service line
  • Remedial investigations, oversight and reporting writing, RBCA, Part 201 and 213 reporting, data assessment
  • Support Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site assessments for the Due Diligence Group.
  • Due Care Inspections / Oversight / Soil Gas Sampling / Vapor Mitigation System oversight / Remedial Implementation
  • Environmental Compliance
  • Abide by Atlas’s Health and Safety policies and procedures
Minimum Requirements:
  • B.S. Degree in geology, biology, hydrology, environmental science, earth science or similar
  • 1-3 years of experience, master's degree preferred
Technical Requirements:
  • Prefer the following additional training or certifications (not requirements): 40-hour OSHA HazWOPER Safety (will be provided); Construction/Industrial Stormwater Inspector
  • Possess physical strength, stamina and dexterity for repeatedly lifting and moving, stooping, bending, climbing, working in varying weather conditions at various remote construction sites with varying terrain.
  • Adhere to Atlas and site-specific safety standards
  • Ability to travel to local and occasionally out of town project sites
  • Must have valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Prefer spreadsheet and analytical familiarity
  • Prefer knowledge of Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook. Familiarity with GPS, Survey, GIS or similar
  • Knowledge of NEPA, RCRA, CERCLA, along with LNAPL, Vapor Assessment and Mitigation, Due Care, Part 201, Part 213, environmental compliance.
Other Miscellaneous Qualities:
  • Ability to travel 20% of the time
  • Communication skills, able to work in teams and solo, able to work 8–10-hour days in urban and rural settings and ability to work in all types of weather.
