Atmos Energy is Hiring a Collections & Bankruptcy Analyst Near Dallas, TX

THIS JOB DESCRIPTION DOES NOT ATTEMPT TO LIST ALL OF THE DUTIES THAT ARE OR MAY BE PERFORMED IN THIS POSITION Primary Duties 1. Extracts data from the customer information reporting system on a regular basis for independent analysis and review. Prepares and analyzes accounts receivable balances for active and inactive customer accounts. Develops and maintains charts to track historical collections data. (55%) 2. Proactively tracks and identifies dunning disconnect service orders for critical customer review and large impact accounts, escalates and works with leadership to determine the appropriate course of action. Projects future service order activity for each Enterprise work center, and recommends an appropriate volume of dunning disconnect service orders to be released for each work center. (15%) 3. Responds to surveys, providing collections and bankruptcy data for the Enterprise. (10%) 4. Participates in the development of reports. Presents information in a clear, consumable manner using data visualization tools and techniques. Aware of emerging and evolving data tools and technology. (10%) 5. Serves as team lead for the collections and bankruptcy employees and ensures Company policies and procedures are followed. Provides coaching and mentoring for collections and bankruptcy employees. (5%) 6. Identifies, designs and implements improvements to enhance collection and bankruptcy processes. (5%) MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE LEVEL: 1. Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field and four years progressively responsible experience in accounting, finance, or customer billing/collections; or 2. A general education knowledge normally acquired through a high school diploma or a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) and six years progressively responsible experience in accounting, finance or customer billing/collections. COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers in order to obtain and or/provide explanations and/or modifications on technical or other complex concepts to individuals with little or no background in the area under discussion. NUMERIC SKILLS: Requires the ability to apply research methods, algorithms, calculus and/or advanced statistical and/or accounting methods. COMPUTER SKILLS: Advance knowledge of various business computer applications in order to create complex documents, reports or graphics. WORK CONDITIONS: Works in an office environment Requires occasionally performing activities including, but not limited to, bending, stooping, grasping, reaching, twisting, turning and/or lifting.
