About the Role

The Director, Cloud Infrastructure Architect will be leading technical thought leadership and delivery excellence related activities at strategic accounts. Working with clients’ executive management to identify opportunities to add business value through cloud infrastructure, implementation, and integration. The role has expert level knowledge and experience in designing, migrating, and implementing complex hosting solutions and migrations. The ideal candidate is a technologist with an entrepreneurial mindset.

The position is customer facing and will work closely with Product Owners, Applications Owners, Network and Security team to deliver the best solution for large scale infrastructure design and application migrations. The Director will have succeeded in roles such as: Cloud Solution Architecture, defining roadmaps, and people management to provide technical direction and leadership in the architecture, design, development, and delivery of public and hybrid cloud solution models. This role requires the perfect mix of being a brilliant hands-on technologist while also having a deep appreciation for how technology drives business value.

The Director will also serve as an industry coach promoting community and excellence internally to our technologists. Your intellectual curiosity, strong research and analytical skills, excellent teaming and communication skills will help you partner with diverse teams to professionally represent Neudesic and drive business results.

Responsibilities:

• Lead Cloud Infrastructure team driving delivery and quality of product
• Lead Agile process
• Create strong internal relationships, train others and evangelize your findings and implications
• Interpret client requirements and support execution of client engagements
• Work with staffing and recruiting to build high-performance delivery teams for your clients
• Identify account risks and develop/implement remediation plans
• Deploy highly available, scalable and secure cloud infrastructure with a focus on Azure using industry best practices
• Deploy networking solutions by using the Azure Portal and other methods, including PowerShell, Azure Command-Line Interface (CLI)
• Provide technical aspects of solution proposals, SOW, and estimation
• Define and implement infrastructure migration methodologies and techniques to migrate workloads into Azure
• Design and develop automation to support continuous delivery and continuous integration process
• People management: train, motivate, lead continued learning, and directing employees ensuring that team members have the resources and support they need to be successful
• Evaluate the performance of team members, providing feedback, and helping team members set and achieve performance goals
• Managing team’s utilization and ensuring that resources are used effectively and efficiently
• Ensures the expansion and growth of the organization

Requirements :

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
• At least 8 – 10 years hands on solution development and managing client relationships
• 5 years of managerial experience
• Strong leadership skills, including the ability to lead and motivate a team, delegate tasks effectively, and make decisions
• Expert Azure Cloud infrastructure experience (Azure Infrastructure as Code)
• Clear and expert understanding of routing and route tables as it relates to Azure
• Experienced in Azure governance, Security, Networking, Express Route, S2S VPN devices, Site Recovery, Azure Monitor, RBAC, virtual network and subscription peering
• Experience with Azure Cloud, Docker, Terraform, Azure Devops
• Experience with scalable architectures using container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift and AKS).
• Logging and monitoring of cloud deployments
• Demonstrable experience developing solution architecture
• Leadership experience throughout the software lifecycle

• Exceptional documentation and diagramming skills
• Be a trusted technical advisor to customers and solve complex Cloud Infrastructure and Networking challenges
• Create and deliver best practices recommendations, tutorials, blog articles, sample code, and technical presentations adapting to different levels of key business and technical stakeholders
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, ability to handle diverse situations, multiple projects and rapidly changing priorities
• Microsoft certifications a plus
• Willingness to travel up to 25%

For Illinois, the expected salary range for this position is between $180,000 and $200,000. The salary range may be different if the successful employee is in a different state. This position is also eligible for performance bonuses. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law
