Attollo Engineering is seeking a Hardware Development Engineer to characterize infrared sensors and laser systems and develop manual and automated calibration and test for imaging, laser and sensor components and systems. The successful candidate will assist with program/project management, customer interaction, and systems engineering. 

Role and Responsibilities

• Collaborate effectively with a multi-disciplinary engineering team
• Assist with program oversight and report writing
• Work with imaging, laser, and sensor systems and develop test approaches and test sets to bring up, test and validate their operation and performance
• Design circuitry, PCBs and software to support data collection
• Develop wafer-, die- and system-level test for cutting-edge infrared sensors and lasers
• Programming for data collection and system characterization
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment in compliance with industry standards and company policies.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Bachelor of Science or advanced degree in electrical, mechanical or optical engineering, computer science, or closely related degree areas.

Preferred Skills

• 5 years of hands-on experience with electrical / optical / mechanical components
• Experience with programming languages such as Python, C, MATLAB, Java
• Experience with software tools for mechanical, electrical and/or optical design
• Experience designing and building mechanical, electrical and/or optical assemblies or systems
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the capability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Strong analytical skills, detail-oriented, with a commitment to quality and safety.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities as needed.
