Atwater's is Hiring a Kitchen Supervisor - Kenilworth Near Towson, MD

Atwater’s specializes in serving breakfast, and lunch. We are an established business who has long cultivated relationships with local and organic producers and farmers. We continue to grow and are looking for someone to grow with us.

As a Kitchen Supervisor, you will be responsible for all functions relating to the maintenance and proper food preparation of Soup, Sandwich & Salad, Breakfast, and Dinner. Will also be required to ensure a positive company atmosphere by providing, “service that makes your day” to customers and staff members.

Responsibilities (include but not limited to):

Work station/Kitchen:

  • Ensure the customer's orders accuracy.
  • Oversee prep of ingredients and other cooking elements for soup, sandwich and salad, breakfast, and dinner.
  • Check inventory food, merchandise, and supplies; and place the orders, or oversee orders.
  • Menu planning and food cost analysis.
  • Ensure workstations are clean at all times. Clean equipment and work area after use or closing. Report equipment & fixture needs to appropriate repair services or General Manager.
  • Follow and comply with health and sanitation procedures and adheres to safe work practices.
  • Participate in new menu item creation and execution.
  • Train and regulate the preparation of new menu items, following Big Kitchen instructions when applicable.
  • Call General Manager in case of emergency.

Staff Management:

  • Kitchen supervisor needs to lead by example by motivating the team to complete the sales process, ensure customer satisfaction, comply with company procedures, and maximize productivity and profitability.
  • Take responsibility to enforce store policies & procedures to the entire staff.
  • Must attend and be an active member for at least one loop regularly; in addition to supervisor meetings.
  • Efficiently delegate tasks and give directions to employees & set up checkpoints to assure the functions are properly completed.
  • Help develop and follow the plan for the store and company.

Customer Service:

  • Welcome and connect with each customer.
  • Promote customer relations through networking, staff awareness programs, staff incentives & training.
  • Educate customers and staff through sharing your knowledge.
  • Be solution-oriented and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Follow up on customers’ complaints and suggestions.

Qualifications:

  • Able to follow instructions and procedures.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Passion for food and broad food knowledge.
  • Have or acquire ServeSafe certificate.
  • Stand and walk for an extended period of time.
  • Bend and lift loads, not exceed 50 pounds.

Experiences: Experience preferred (3 years or more).

Compensation: $18-20

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends

Experience:

  • culinary: 3 years (Required)
  • relevant: 3 years (Preferred)
