We are currently seeking a Fire Protection Designer to become part of our company located in Knoxville, TN. This position reports to the Design Manager and will serve as a fire protection systems designer and requires the ability to:

• Work in a Team environment with a positive and helpful attitude
• Create accurate, complete and code compliant CAD/BIM design drawings and calculations for fire sprinkler and special hazards systems
• Self-start and work with minimal supervision
• Effectively manage design tasks, project schedules and deadlines Job Duties,

Responsibilities and Qualifications:

• NICET Certified Level III – Water-Based Systems Layout
• 5 years’ experience in the Fire Protection field.
• Proficient in AutoCAD / BIM Coordination.
• Practical experience with HASS calculation software / Word / Excel / etc.
• Verbal and written Communication skills.
• Working knowledge of NFPA Codes and Standards.
• Prepare project drawings, specifications and schematics required to support the installation of fire protection systems
• Perform Hydraulic Calculations, Flow tests etc.
• Stock list drawings for fabrication
• Maintain project drawing files, and associate records, and documentation tracking& maintaining as-built drawings.
• Timely completion and processing of required paperwork.
• Attend job meeting and coordination meetings as needed per job.
