Auburn School District #408 is Hiring an Instructional Technology Coach (TOSA) 24-25 School Year Near Auburn, WA

Auburn School District are looking for a High School Technology Coach to help our teachers integrate technology into their classrooms with an emphasis on excellence and equity.

Responsibilities include:

  • Facilitate Student-Centered Coaching cycles across grade levels and disciplines that exemplify progressive use of technology, the district instructional framework, and culturally responsive teaching practices;
  • Plan and provide related professional development activities for school staff;
  • Collaborate with teachers to create a culture of rigor, inquiry, and reflection by probing ideas and further pressing students to explore their intellect. 
  • Lead and support special projects and teams related to technology integration;
  • Collaborate with school technology and instruction leaders to ensure clear communication with school staff, and support School Improvement Plans;
  • Provide technology leadership at the school and district levels, including partnership with other Department of Technology teams to support and further the district strategic plan.

Qualifications

  • Valid teaching certificate, state of Washington; 
  • Minimum three years successful teaching experience that includes integrating technology yielding positive outcomes for students;
  • Additional training or master’s in instructional technology or related field preferred;
  • Ability to maintain strong, productive relationships with other employees, families, and students; 
  • Ability to work under pressure, to pay attention to time lines, detail, to concentrate, and to follow directions; 
  • Flexibility to meet with staff, by arrangement, before/after school hours as part of this special assignment;
  • Capacity to work up to twenty additional paid days each summer;
  • Maintain appropriate levels of confidentiality in all matters pertaining to students, families, staff, and program. 

Training, knowledge, and skills desired: 

  • Strong knowledge, skills, and abilities in content, methods, and strategies associated with technology integration appropriate for subjects taught across the PK-12 program (English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Arts, Health, Physical Education, etc.); 
  • Knowledge of the Common Core Standards for ELA and Mathematics, WA State Standards for content, and WA Ed Tech Standards;
  • Have experience with, or a willingness to learn, how to implement the core practices for Student-Centered Coaching. 
  • Ability to build trusting, respectful, and professional relationships with teachers, and engage in reflective dialogue with others.
  • Knowledge of formative assessment and visible learning practices;
  • Understanding and the ability to apply the SAMR technology integration model, and 21st Century Learning Skills (the Four Cs);
  • Awareness of culturally responsive teaching practices; demonstrated commitment to serve all students, integrating best practices for students with disabilities and English Language Learners in core instruction;
  • Ability to use student data collaboratively to plan, organize, and strengthen classroom instruction, and to improve student outcomes; 
  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues and school leaders in the analysis and use of data to plan for instruction that advances student learning and closes achievement gaps;
  • Experience working effectively with colleagues and administrators to accomplish building and district goals; 
  • Experience working with an instructional coach, or in coaching/mentorship of others;
  • Proficiency with Google Apps for Education (e.g. Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive);
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook);
  • Ability to communicate effectively — orally and in writing;
  • Commitment toward and desire for self-improvement and continued professional growth; 
  • Willingness and ability to benefit from supervision and evaluation.
