Augment Jobs is Hiring a Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Analyst Near Los Angeles, CA

Job Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented M&A Analyst to join our dynamic team. The M&A Analyst will play a key role in executing mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and other strategic transactions. This position requires strong financial analysis skills, attention to detail, and the ability to support the deal process from inception to closure. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of corporate finance, financial modeling, and mergers and acquisitions transactions.
Roles And Responsibilities
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis, including valuation modeling, financial statement analysis, and scenario analysis, to assess potential acquisition targets or divestiture opportunities. Evaluate financial metrics, performance trends, and synergy potential to support decision-making.
  • Due Diligence: Coordinate and conduct due diligence activities, including reviewing financial documents, legal contracts, customer contracts, and operational data of target companies. Identify key risks, opportunities, and issues that may impact transaction outcomes.
  • Transaction Execution: Assist in preparing transaction-related documents, including confidentiality agreements, letters of intent (LOIs), and purchase agreements. Support negotiation processes with buyers/sellers and external advisors (legal, financial, tax) to facilitate transaction closure.
  • Market Research and Analysis: Conduct industry and market research to identify potential acquisition targets or strategic opportunities. Analyze competitive landscapes, industry trends, and market dynamics to assess strategic fit and market positioning.
  • Financial Modeling: Develop and maintain complex financial models (DCF, LBO, merger models) to analyze financial impact, synergies, and returns on investment for M&A transactions. Validate assumptions, perform sensitivity analysis, and prepare investment memos for senior management.
  • Integration Planning: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop integration plans for acquired companies. Coordinate post-merger integration activities, including operational synergies, cultural integration, and organizational restructuring.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Prepare and present analysis, findings, and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders. Communicate transaction progress, risks, and milestones effectively to ensure alignment and informed decision-making.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Review: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including antitrust laws, SEC filings, and other legal and regulatory considerations related to M&A transactions.
Skills Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. Master’s degree (e.g., MBA) or progress towards CFA or CPA certification is preferred.
  • 2-4 years of experience in investment banking, corporate finance, M&A advisory, or related fields. Experience in financial modeling and transaction execution preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial analysis, valuation techniques, and financial modeling (Excel, financial modeling software).
  • Knowledge of M&A processes, including due diligence, deal structuring, and negotiation.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly and effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external advisors.
Compensation
  • Performance-based bonuses and incentives may range from 10% to 30% of base salary, based on individual and company performance metrics.
