Overview: We are seeking an experienced and proactive Network Operations Center (NOC) Manager to oversee the operations of our NOC and ensure the smooth functioning of our network infrastructure. As a NOC Manager, you will lead a team of network engineers and technicians responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting our network systems to deliver high availability and reliability. Your leadership and technical expertise will play a crucial role in ensuring proactive network management, incident resolution, and adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).
Roles And Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the Network Operations Center (NOC), including monitoring network performance, availability, and security.
  • Lead a team of network engineers, technicians, and analysts, providing guidance, mentoring, and technical support to ensure efficient and effective operation of the NOC.
  • Develop and implement NOC policies, procedures, and best practices to optimize network performance, minimize downtime, and ensure compliance with security policies and standards.
  • Monitor network alarms, alerts, and incidents, and oversee the troubleshooting and resolution process to minimize impact on business operations.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to escalate and resolve network issues promptly and effectively.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, set performance goals, and provide ongoing feedback and coaching to NOC team members.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including IT teams, business units, and senior management, to communicate network status, issues, and resolution plans.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices related to network operations and security.
  • Develop and maintain NOC documentation, including network diagrams, procedures, and incident reports.
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies, network trends, and best practices in network operations and management.
Skills And Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role within a Network Operations Center (NOC), managing network operations and technical teams.
  • Strong technical knowledge of networking principles and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs, etc.).
  • Experience with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, PRTG).
  • Solid understanding of ITIL framework and its application in network operations and incident management.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on proactive network management and incident resolution.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), ITIL Foundation, or equivalent certifications are advantageous.
