SUMMARY:

The Augusta Health Inpatient Surgical Unit is a medical-surgical floor with 24 private rooms that specializes in surgical cases. Patients may have a variety of operations ranging from orthopedics, general surgery, thoracic, urology, gynecology, and vascular cases.

The Surgical Unit offers a Registered Nurse the chance to utilize excellent assessment skills and broaden their knowledge of both surgical and medical patients. They are accountable for the coordination of direct patient care and education, and serve as a leader of the patient care team. The RN will work closely with an interdisciplinary team to deliver high quality patient care.

Requirements

• Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia
• Minimum of one (1) year of RN experience required
• BSN or ADN currently enrolled in a BSN program preferred
• BLS certification required
• Positive attitude, with enthusiasm for caring for our community
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Effective time management skills
