Schedule: Monday-Friday, 10:00AM-6:00PM, with OT as needed
Pay: $19.00 per hour
Job Purpose: Supervises, coordinates and directs all activities of the outbound operations team responsible for verifying and maintaining records of outgoing shipments (customer order processing) and preparing any other outbound items, by performing the following duties.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Reviews invoices, orders, customer specs, shipping history, freight charges and other records to determine priorities, work assignments and standardized procedures, required to meet or exceed daily schedules.
- Oversees outgoing shipping activities to ensure order accuracy, service level and completeness.
- Counsels/disciplines employees, addresses inquiries/resolves issues as needed, support continuous improvement activities.
- Ability to read and understand pick ticket labels, work orders and other shipping related documents.
- Operates a scanner to read bar codes labels, process and fill customer orders.
- Determines and administers standardized procedures to expedite work flow safely and efficiently.
- Develop continuous improvement initiatives, while engaging employees similarly in this business expectation.
- Confers and cooperates with other departments as necessary and required.
- Compiles daily reports and immediately communicates all issues of non-compliance to company policy, or potentially create risk to completing customer orders on time and complete, to Senior DC Operations Manager.
- Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, productivity and conformance to policies/procedures.
- Manage all direct reports with respect, dignity, fairness and consistency every day.
- Completes daily employee time keeping exception reports.
- Inspects material handling equipment and scanners for defects, notifies maintenance personnel accordingly.
- Promotes safety at all times and the administration of company policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Computer skills: Prior experience utilizing a warehouse management system and ERP system (Movex and/or Lucas a huge plus); Microsoft Office experience a plus.
- Competencies: Knowledge of entire shipping department warehouse management system functions, garment specifications, and international shipping procedures. Knowledge of all UPS and FedEx regulations and charges.
- Supervisory responsibilities: Manages a team of non-exempt employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws.
- Teamwork: Contributes to building a positive team spirit.
- Physical Demands: Frequently required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. Occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
