Aunt Matilda’s Steampunk Trunk aspires to be the coolest store in St. Augustine, and people have noticed! As a result, we are looking to expand our sales crew!

We’re looking for staff who will be dedicated, friendly, and responsible employees who will take on the role of in-store salesperson.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for helping to create an enjoyable and inviting environment for guests while performing sales duties.

Pay: $12.50-15/hr bonuses up to $100 a month.

Sales duties include:

• Answering questions about our wares.
• Finding products that our customers will enjoy.
• Help to retrieve items for customers.
• Subtly encourage the purchase of store items.
• Running our register with accuracy and efficiency, etc.

We strive to create a positive experience for all guests, which entails keeping the shop clean and tidy, maintaining a positive attitude, and bringing good energy into the store.

Bonus points if you’re a knowledgeable steampunker, but we’ll show you the ropes if you’re not. What is steampunk, you ask? Well, in short, it’s a modern take on Victorian Era sci-fi.

This is a fast-paced retail environment located on St George Street, so retail or sale experience is required. This position answers directly to the store managers.

Responsibilities

• Greeting and assisting guests
• Answering guest’s questions about products, services, and steampunk
• Suggesting products to guests (cross selling)
• Coordinating with our replenishment team / restocking sold items
• Operating the point of sale register (including returns)
• Informing guests of discounts and special offers (upselling)
• Providing customer feedback to the Store Manager
• Staying informed about our newest products and services
• Cleaning / tidying the shop

Requirements

• Proven work experience in retail sales or similar role
• Enjoys people and interacting with customers
• Excellent communication skills
• Capable of building trusting relationships
• Ability to perform in fast-paced environments
• Flexibility to work various shifts
