Job Title: Summer Internship – Radar Signal Processing

Location: Boston, MA

Duration: 10 weeks

Aura Intelligent Systems is addressing the spatial sensing challenge at the edge for automotive safety and autonomous driving. At Aura, we are pioneering Digital Imaging Radar technology and are dedicated to delivering state-of-the-art solutions to the market. We take pride in our innovation, which stems from research funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and DARPA. This summer, we are offering a unique opportunity for students who are passionate about advancing radar technology in a fast-paced startup environment.

Position Overview: We are seeking a talented Summer Intern with experience in radar signal processing and performance analysis. The areas of interest include coherent radar signal processing, OFDM, MIMO, sparse antenna signal processing, and fixed-point arithmetic. The intern will work closely with the founding team to research, develop algorithms, and build MATLAB simulation model for performance analysis of the developed algorithm. This internship offers hands-on experience in a professional setting, fostering both technical and collaborative skills. Interns will work with talented engineering team and engage with global customers. The intern will have an opportunity to participate in cutting edge research on digital radar and the next generation communications technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research on signal processing for coherent imaging radar
  • Model and optimize radar signal processing algorithms
  • Build Matlab simulation model and conduct performance analysis
  • Assist in the development, testing, and validation of the radar systems
  • Analyze radar data and perform simulations to evaluate system performance
  • Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
  • Present findings on algorithm, modeling, and performance analysis
  • Participate in team meetings, contributing ideas and progress updates

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Masters’ or Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or related fields
  • Strong mathematical modeling and analytical skills in radar imaging, radar signal processing, MIMO, OFDM, system modeling, and algorithm optimization
  • Over 3 years of experience in MATLAB/C on signal processing, radar, communication systems, and related Toolboxes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with other programming languages such as Python or C is a plus
  • Previous projects or coursework related to radar imaging or signal processing
  • Familiarity with digital signal processing (DSP) techniques
  • Implementation of signal processing algorithms and fixed-point arithmetic
  • Knowledge of testing methodologies and tools
