Production Planner

The Production Planner is responsible for working closely with farm production, plant manufacturing and customer logistics teams to plan and coordinate production of AOD products with both company-owned and contracted facilities. The Production Planner assists the Production Planning Manager in managing the company’s weekly and monthly milk and finished goods balancing plan.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Work with Plant and co-packers to develop weekly production plans for AOD products that both meet milk utilization goals and achieve high customer service levels in a cost-effective manner.
  • Work with Farm, Supply Chain, and Demand Planning teams to determine weekly and monthly milk & cream supply and sales outlook. Develop production and co-packing plans based on these outlooks.
  • Implement production plans that maintain adequate inventory levels while maximizing production efficiencies and meeting customer fulfillment requirements.
  • Analyze forecasts with respect to capacity planning and material requirements.
  • Ensure integrity of past productions and success of future productions by analyzing incoming data from Plant and Co-Packers and communicating with appropriate personnel at these facilities regarding issues and discrepancies.
  • Problem solve with cross-functional partners to resolve inventory issues and proactively address constraints.
  • Review and analyze weekly performance/inventory levels and recommend changes to forecasts.
  • Analyze past performance to identify opportunities and create corrective action for improving inventory management performance.
  • Audit, track, and approve invoices for payment by Finance team. Perform month-end closing process, inventory reconciliation and accruing of outstanding invoices.

Other Required Responsibilities:

  • Maintain good relationships with cross-functional teams by resolving issues and communicating relevant information to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain, Sales, and Plant Operations teams to ensure fulfillment of customer orders.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by successfully completing educational courses and workshops relevant to the job.
  • Plant operations are 24/7 – some tasks may require attention during non-business hours.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferably in Supply Chain or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1-2 years' Experience in Planning or Supply Chain functions preferred.
  • Mathematical and analytical skills essential; experience in general accounting practices desired.
  • Expert in Microsoft Excel.
  • Proficient in other Microsoft Office programs including Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Experience with Power Bi is a plus.
  • Experience with Infor M3 desired.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Well organized and detail oriented with the ability to juggle multiple tasks.
  • Quick and creative problem solver.
  • Honest with strong work ethic and good judgment with regard to handling confidential information.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to work for extended periods in an office environment. Walking, climbing, bending, stooping, and working in adverse environments will all be a requirement. Lift up to 50lbs at times. Able to travel via automobile or airline.
