Description

Aurora Mental Health & Recovery (AMHR) seeks an Applications & Business Intelligence Manager to lead a team responsible for application support, business requirement analysis, and delivering data-driven insights. This role involves overseeing vendor interactions, coordinating testing efforts, gathering and analyzing business requirements, and managing data analysis to provide strategic insights. The manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and alignment with organizational goals while also facilitating continuous improvement within the IT department. The ideal candidate for the role is an experienced leader with a strong background in application support, business analysis, and data analytics. They possess excellent communication skills and are adept at collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify business needs and drive organizational success. Additionally, they have a passion for innovation and are committed to continuously improving processes and delivering impactful insights through data-driven solutions.

About the team.

The team at Aurora Mental Health & Recovery's IT Department is focused on accelerating business and clinical outcomes through innovative technology services. They aim to be an agile and influential partner to the entire organization, providing rapid fulfillment of technology needs, easy access to essential information, and continual operational improvement. With a hybrid work schedule, they offer flexibility while maintaining a commitment to excellence in delivering data-driven solutions.

Shift. Monday - Friday, 8 hours between 7am to 7pm. We have a hybrid work schedule where you can enjoy working remotely half-time and work in the office 2 days per week!

Salary for this role.

Salary is based on 1.0 FTE (full time equivalent) or 40 hours per week. Fewer than 40 hours/week will be prorated and adjusted to the appropriate FTE. Salary is also based on experience, licensure and company equity. Paid bi-weekly. 

  •  $74,251.64 - $137,895.90 per year.

Responsibilities:

  • Manager Accountabilities: Lead employees, maintaining team focus and direction. Hire, provide performance feedback and coaching, and fire employees in accord with organization guidance. Communicate with external stakeholders related to team accountability. Cascade information from sr. leadership to lower levels in alignment with organization strategy and goals. Design and implement effective group and intergroup work and communication expectations. Define and monitor group-level performance indicators. Diagnose and resolve problems within and among work groups.
  • Application Support
    • Provide guidance and support to team members handling vendor interactions, addressing technical challenges, and communicating feedback.
    • Maintain awareness of vendor-related issues, risks, and opportunities and communicate these to senior management as needed.
    • Oversee the process of monitoring software vendors' release notes and announcements for new service pack updates, patches, and feature enhancements relevant to the applications used within the organization.
    • Collaborate with testing teams to plan and coordinate testing efforts for software updates, patches, and new features.
    • Oversee the creation of test cases and scenarios that encompass the functionality impacted by updates.
    • Guide the testing process to ensure comprehensive coverage of different scenarios, including integration, regression, and performance testing.
    • Play a role in facilitating communication between developers, testers, and business stakeholders to address issues and feedback during testing phases.
    • Ensure that testing results are documented and reviewed to determine if updates meet quality standards before deployment.
    • Collaborate with the team to collect feedback from end-users and stakeholders regarding the impact of updates on application performance, usability, and functionality.
    • Facilitate the feedback loop by coordinating with support teams to address reported issues, bugs, and user concerns.
    • Oversee the team's efforts in defining UAT test cases and scenarios. Ensure that UAT is conducted effectively to validate system functionality.
    • Encourage the team to maintain comprehensive documentation related to application configuration, customization, and user guides.
    • Ensure that documentation is easily accessible to end-users and support teams.
  • Business Requirements Gathering and Analysis
    • Lead the team in collaborating with business stakeholders to understand and document their requirements for software applications and solutions.
    • Provide guidance on techniques to elicit requirements effectively, including interviews, workshops, surveys, and documentation review.
    • Ensure that requirements are collected comprehensively and accurately, capturing both functional and non-functional aspects.
    • Guide the team in analyzing gathered requirements to identify inconsistencies, conflicts, and gaps in information.
    • Provide direction on techniques to clarify and refine requirements, such as creating user stories, use cases, process flows, and data flow diagrams.
    • Collaborate with business analysts to perform impact analysis, assessing how proposed requirements may affect existing processes, systems, and stakeholders.
    • Oversee the quality assurance process for requirements and design specifications, ensuring that they are complete, clear, and well-documented.
    • Ensure that documentation is organized, accessible, and serves as a knowledge resource for project teams and future reference.
  • Business Intelligence
    • Oversee the team's data analysis efforts to uncover meaningful insights, trends, and patterns from diverse data sources.
    • Guide the team in utilizing statistical and analytical techniques to transform raw data into actionable insights for decision-making.
    • Ensure the team designs and develops impactful reports, dashboards, and interactive visualizations that effectively communicate insights to stakeholders.
    • Play a role in defining key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics that align with business objectives and help track progress.
    • Collaborate with data teams to validate data quality, monitor data lineage, and enforce data standards.
    • Foster collaboration between the BI team and other departments to ensure seamless data integration and alignment with data warehouse structures.
    • Work closely with IT, database administrators, and data engineers to ensure data is accurately and efficiently sourced for analysis.
    • Ensure that the team provides training to users on how to effectively use BI tools and interpret visualizations.
    • Play a role in offering ongoing support to users for troubleshooting, clarifying insights, and addressing challenges.
    • Lead the team in delivering insights that support strategic decision-making at various levels of the organization.
    • Collaborate with senior management to provide data-driven recommendations for growth opportunities, operational efficiencies, and risk mitigation.

Qualifications


Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, data science, or a related field is preferred.
  • 6 years of experience encompassing both data analysis and business intelligence expertise is required:
    • Two (2) years of previous experience managing a team of Business Analysts and/or BI Data professionals is required.
    • Four (4) years of previous experience in a business intelligence analyst or similar role
  • Previous experience in behavioral health or general healthcare is preferred. 
  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), Certified Analytics Professional (CAP), and/or Certified Business Intelligence Professional (CBIP) are preferred.
  • Team Leadership: Strong leadership skills to guide, motivate, and manage others effectively.
  • SQL Proficiency: Strong command of SQL for data retrieval, manipulation, and analysis from various database systems.
  • Data Modeling: Skilled in creating logical and physical data models to structure and optimize databases.
  • Vendor Relationship: Experience in managing vendor interactions and assessing risks and opportunities.
  • Problem Solving: Analytical and critical thinking skills to identify and resolve complex challenges.
  • Business Intelligence Tools: Proficient in using BI tools like Sisense (preferred), Tableau, Power BI, or Qlik for data visualization and reporting.
  • Documentation Skills: Strong documentation abilities for capturing requirements, processes, and analysis findings.
  • Data Governance Awareness: Understanding of data governance principles and compliance requirements.
  • Data Security Awareness: Knowledge of data security principles and practices to safeguard sensitive information.

Required Vaccinations.
