The role of the Medical Director at Aurora Mental Health & Recovery (AMHR) is to provide medical leadership to medical mental health professionals in busy clinics throughout Aurora, Colorado. Our Medical Directors collaborate with various professionals to develop and support OP and Crisis medical service lines, provide educational supervision to prescribers as well as preceptorship and educational experiences to medical students, Psychiatric Residents, Nurse Practitioner students, and early career colleagues while delivering quality mental health care to a diverse population of patients.
The Medical Director provides guidance regarding behavioral health clinical service delivery, ensures the quality of the medical component of care, and provides guidance to foster the integration and coordination of behavioral health and primary care.
About The Team.
The Medical Team at AMHR is a multidisciplinary team that consists of nurses, medical assistants, patient care coordinators, Psychiatrists, and Nurse Practitioners with prescriptive authority in Psychiatry. These professionals work together to provide state of the art care to patients who need psychiatric or medical care while coping with mental health diagnoses. The role will work Monday-Friday, five 8-hour shifts.
$15,000 Sign-on Bonus Available! *Not eligible for PRN candidates, internal employees, and re-hired employees within 90 days from separation. Fewer than 0.5 FTE will receive a prorated sign-on bonus adjusted to FTE.
Based on full time (40 hours/week). Prorated if fewer than 40 hours/week. Paid in two installments: 50% on first paycheck, 50% on paycheck following 6-month anniversary.
Plus a generous $10,000 Relocation Bonus Available! *Only out-of-state candidates may be eligible.
Salary for this role.
Salary is based on 1.0 FTE (full time equivalent) or 40 hours per week. Fewer than 40 hours/week will be prorated and adjusted to the appropriate FTE. Salary is also based on years of licensure and company equity.
Bilingual Language Differential Pay. *Rate depends on language requirements for the position and candidate's fluency.

This role is for those who enjoy working with a team to arrive at solutions to complex health care problems at both the individual and systems level.

AMHR has prioritized the health and safety of our clients and staff and requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, receive an annual influenza (flu) shot, and receive negative TB test results prior to their first day of hire. Proof of both vaccinations and negative TB test will be required upon your first day of employment. Medical and religious exemptions may be requested for the COVID-19 vaccine, annual flu shot, or TB test.
