Austin Industrial, Inc. - We are seeking an experienced Clerk Logistics Accounts Payable to be based in Pasadena, Texas.
This position requires a Valid TWIC Card and a Driver's License.
Short-term position working 5x8s plus occasional OT - No Per Diem.

Clerk Logistics Accounts Payable
The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for processing payables invoices and execution of payment runs. This position will produce and review invoice and purchase order reports for accuracy and completeness, review and evaluate the invoice aging report, and distribute to key departments within the organization. They will respond timely to vendor and departmental inquiries, reviewing invoice vendor statements and other duties as assigned.
BASIC FUNCTION
  • The Logistics Accounts Payable Clerk will audit, validate, and monitor all freight costs (ERS vs. non-ERS) and
    audit, validate, and monitor all budgets for Railcar Lease, Rail Maintenance, and Packaging Products.
  • Professional communication with multiple carriers is a requirement.
  • This role complies with all site safety policies and practices
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Contract analysis of all truck and outbound rail commitments/settlements for ERS/non-ERS (auto-pay) and
    transfer terminal-related expenses, which includes auditing, validating -and processing all invoices
    maintaining the accounts within the contractual obligations.
  • Reconciliation of the monthly aging reports for truck and rail carriers, handling disputes, balance dues, and
    cash application questions.
  • Provides backup coverage for the shipment cost document process and a complete understanding of the
    Distribution Analyst Rail and Ocean-related obligations.
  • Problem-solving and resolution of any rate discrepancy between SAP, the contracts, the sourcing group, and
    external vendors applying the proper revisions according to contractual agreements and the SAP system.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  • Accounts Payable knowledge preferred.
  • Strong SAP SD/LE/MM knowledge and Excel skills preferred
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
  • Understanding of Logistics transportation processes and subsequent transportation costs to include rail
    movements, trucking, ocean, and container movements.
  • Experience with carrier online billing tools such as Rail Trac, Class I railroad platforms, NVOCC websites, etc.
PHYSICAL CAPACITY REQUIREMENTS
This position requires the incumbent to:
  • Follow safety requirements (goggles, PPE, etc.) when inside the plant environment
  • Walk safely in and around industrial areas
  • Speak publicly (such as at employee meetings)
  • Sit for extended periods at a computer and work with computer-based data
Qualifications Required for this Position:
Education: - no minimum education requirements.
Experience: - 3 years of accounts payable with SAP experience.
Certifications/ Licenses: A valid Driver's License and TWIC Card.
